Volunteer Opportunities

Being of service brings us closer to Christ

We hope to inspire others to know Jesus by offering our time and talent to each other, our parish and those in need outside the Saint Ambrose community.

Opening Our Hearts to Families in Transition

Did you know that one of the very few family shelters in our area nearby is on the campus of Guardian Angels Catholic Community in Oakdale? It is Hope for the Journey Home [HJH] where up to seven homeless families at a time can stay in the former rectory of the parish as they search for permanent housing. Volunteers can cook or serve an evening meal or stay overnight in a private room. Saint Ambrose parishioner Norb Tennessen is one of the volunteers who collaborates to support the shelter. If you would like to know more about HJH and volunteer opportunities, you can contact Norb at [email protected] or text or call him at 651-230-8944.

Advent Giving
Please visit the Advent giving table in the Commons before and after Masses on November 6th & 7th and November 13th & 14th.

Here are two ways to share your Christmas Spirit:

Holiday Hope from Community Thread
Each year, Community Thread matches hundreds of individuals and families to sponsors who provide individually chosen gifts or gift cards and a holiday meal.

A Gift from the Heart
Provides a specific gift request for an elderly resident at Little Sisters of the Poor & Saint Therese.

Spirituality and faith are an important part of life at Saint Therese. We have an urgent need for volunteers to support our Pastoral Care team.

Mass escort – assist residents to and from the chapel. Opportunities are available Saturdays, 3:30-5:30pm, and Sundays, 9:30-11:30am.

Eucharistic ministers are needed to distribute Holy Communion to care center residents in their room. This opportunity is available Monday – Friday. The time frame is flexible to the volunteer.
