A Time for Healing, Renewal, and Grace
As we journey through Advent and prepare our hearts for the celebration of Christ’s birth, we are invited to pause, reflect, and receive God’s mercy. On Wednesday, December 10, we will hold a Day of Mercy here at Saint Ambrose from 10:00 am to 8:00 pm in the church.
Throughout the day, multiple priests will be available to hear confessions and offer the grace and forgiveness of Christ through the Sacrament of Reconciliation. Whether it has been months, years, or decades since your last confession, this is your invitation.

Why Reconciliation During Advent?
Advent is a season of preparation—quieting our hearts, renewing our spirit, and making room for Christ. One of the most meaningful ways to do this is by returning to the Sacrament of Reconciliation, where we encounter not judgment, but healing, freedom, and peace.
Many people hesitate because they worry they will say the wrong thing, repeat the same sins, or feel unworthy. Yet the Church reminds us that confession is not about perfection, it’s about turning back to God with honesty and humility.
Growing in holiness is a lifelong journey, and confessing the same sins does not mean we are failing, it means we are still seeking God’s grace in our struggles. With prayer, perseverance, and God’s help, we continue forward in faith.
Confession restores our peace, strengthens us against temptation, and opens us to God’s grace in deeper ways. Many Catholics say they leave the sacrament with a lighter heart and renewed strength. This Advent, give yourself the gift of God’s mercy.
