Growing in Faith through Reconciliation & First Eucharist
Receiving the sacraments of First Reconciliation and First Eucharist marks a joyful and grace-filled time in a child’s faith journey. Through these sacraments, children encounter the mercy, love, and real presence of Jesus in profound ways. These two sacraments can be received beginning in 2nd grade.
At Saint Ambrose, we partner closely with parents, who are the primary teachers of the faith, to help children grow in understanding God’s forgiveness and in their desire to receive Jesus in the Eucharist. Together, through prayer, study, and shared experiences, families help their children prepare to celebrate these beautiful moments of encounter with Christ and His Church.

Preparing with Family Formation

We’re honored to walk with your child in this important year of faith. Preparation for First Reconciliation and First Eucharist happens in partnership with parents through our Family Formation program and includes:
- At-home faith activities to reinforce what you’re learning together
- A monthly class for parents and children at Saint Ambrose
- A workshop before each sacrament
