A Message from Dr. Weingartz
It is with great joy that I write to introduce myself as the newest member of the Saint Ambrose Catholic Community. My name is Dr. Matthew Weingartz, and I am truly honored to join this vibrant community as the next principal of Saint Ambrose Catholic School.
From the moment I learned about Saint Ambrose Catholic School, I was drawn to its strong sense of community, its mission, and most importantly, its commitment to supporting and nurturing each person on their journey with Christ. As someone who deeply values Catholic education and has spent my entire 23-year career serving in Catholic schools—as a middle school teacher and, for the past 11 years, as a Catholic school administrator at both the high school and PK–8 levels—I am honored and excited to lead this remarkable school community.
I am especially eager to meet each of you—students, parents, faculty, staff, and parishioners—and to become part of what makes Saint Ambrose so special. Please do not hesitate to introduce yourself, share your experiences, or simply say hello. I look forward to listening, learning, and serving alongside you in the months and years ahead.
May God continue to bless the entire Saint Ambrose Catholic Community.

Get to Know Dr. Weingartz
Beyond his experience in Catholic education, Dr. Weingartz is a husband, father, educator, and disciple of Christ. Learn a little more about him below.
St. John Bosco inspires me through his dedication to educating and forming young people in faith. My favorite Scripture is Philippians 4:13: “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me,” a reminder that our strength comes from Christ in every circumstance.
Family time is one of my greatest joys. My wife, April, and I are celebrating 22 years of marriage this June, and we love spending time with our daughters, Alisia and Jacqueline. One of our favorite traditions is attending Gopher football games in the fall.
I encounter Christ in my daily prayer and in my everyday interactions with others. I am continually inspired by seeing people come together in faith and community to share the light of Christ with one another.
Joining a vibrant Catholic community that is deeply committed to supporting and nurturing each child on their journey with Christ. I look forward to building relationships with students, families, faculty, staff, and parishioners as we continue this mission together.
