Safety through Connection: Looking Out for One Another
Saint Ambrose Catholic Community recently hosted a Safety & Security presentation in partnership with 360 Security Services, centered on the most effective way to keep our community safe through early awareness, reporting, and care for one another. Saint Ambrose’s approach is rooted in an all-hazards mindset—preparing for everything from severe weather to behavioral concerns—while prioritizing prevention, collaboration with experts and law enforcement, and ongoing improvements to our campus and protocols.
A key focus of the presentation was the importance of Behavioral Threat Assessment & Management (BTAM) and our use of the CHIRP-360 reporting system. Research consistently shows that warning signs are present before incidents occur and are often noticed by others first. That’s why we emphasize a shared responsibility for safety and a clear process to act early:
- Identify concerning behavior
- Assess with trained professionals
- Manage with appropriate care and response
Along with physical security measures, prevention also comes from a connected community where individuals feel confident speaking up. When we notice, care, and communicate, we create opportunities to support those in need and protect our Saint Ambrose Catholic Community.
