Mission Statement:
To Be Truly Seen, inspired by our Catholic faith, and guided by the teachings of Jesus Christ, our mission is to provide a moment of acceptance and hospitality for the homeless each day we are there. Rooted in love and compassion, we are dedicated to seving those with dignity and respect, fostering a sense of belonging and community to give them a small sliver of happiness and hope for their day
What We Do:
Once a month, we visit with people who are homeless at the Catholic Charities Dorothy Day Center (DDC) in downtown St. Paul. We play bingo with those present, talk and connect and distribute needed items donated by fellow parishioners. More importantly though, our visit is intended to relate respect and dignity to the unknown and unloved while that contact benefits us in charity. We stay together and we work together. We reach a small group of people for a short period of time as Jesus worked.
Every third Saturday of the month we meet at 9:00 am in the Father Pingatore Room at Saint Ambrose. We prepare for the visit and pray together before carpooling to the DDC. We are at the DDC from about 9:45 to 11:30 am. We conclude our visit with thankful prayer.
